The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to Open New Location in Downtown Brooklyn This Summer

Brooklyn is about to get a taste of that little southern comfort.

The famous Alamo Drafthouse is coming to downtown Brooklyn this summer, and it looks like movie goers are going to finally put away those damn phones.

Alamo Drafthouse, famous for its extremely strict, “no talking, no texting” rule, will finally bring some zest back to the cinema world as audience goers will get that real film loving experience of staring at the proper screen and enjoying a film in digital or good ol’ 35mm format.

The theatre is famous for its diverse viewing experience, as a wide variety of films is offered in this seven screen movie lover paradise.

Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO, Tim League had a few words to say on the new Brooklyn location.

“It’s been a long time coming but we cannot wait to bring the Alamo Drafthouse experience to Brooklyn. The impact on film from this region is indelible and expansive. Hopefully, we can add to that rich fabric and give fans, new and old, a place to honor the joy of cinema.”

The new location will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by including movie nights made famous in the Austin location such as, Terror Tuesday, Video Vortex, and Girlie Night as well as adding new nights to coincide with the taste and flare of Brooklyn and the great state of New York.

The theatre will also serve an amazing in-theater dining experience for its audience members, along with some local beers and hand-crafted cocktails to wash down that tasty food.

The theatre is in the final phases of construction and will be located on 445 Gold Street in downtown Brooklyn this summer.
